Hi John

I just wanted to thank you very much for the help you gave me when I consulted you about sciatica on 6th August.

Your treatment helped greatly on the day. I did the exercises you gave me as instructed, and I'm delighted to say that by 3 days later I felt so much better, and within the week was totally pain-free.

I am very grateful to you for your assistance.

When I come for Shiatsu I can be tired and rundown. My joints and muscles often ache, and I’ll usually have a headache and/or be stressed. Afterwards I feel thoroughly relaxed, light, centred, content, energised, and usually the symptoms are noticeably reduced. Over the course of my sessions with John my general well-being has improved and my initial complaints occur less frequently.

John provides consistently great Shiatsu! He is clearly very experienced - he is both knowledgeable of eastern philosophies about body and mind and very intuitive in applying these to one’s individual needs. He also gives great holistic and practical lifestyle advice, including exercises you can do for yourself, to teach how to transfer understanding of your body and mind into everyday life.

John is very professional yet friendly and approachable. He is extremely knowledgeable and responsive to your needs.

Shiatsu is not just an alternative one off treatment that relaxes and re-energises. In John’s case, Shiatsu provides an opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of both your body and mind; its strengths and weaknesses. As a male therapist John seems very in tune with women’s concerns and capable of empathising with and treating these effectively.

I would highly recommend Shiatsu with John! He’s helped me feel better in body and mind, know myself better and feel more able to help and look after myself in everyday life!

How I feel varies when I need Shiatsu, sometimes I’m drained and needing “nourished” other times I’m “traumatised” and needing grounded and “emptied” of trapped energy. Afterwards I’m nourished and I feel relief. Physically movement is more fluid and my body feels more supple. I feel much more accepting of my physical body, more “at home” in it. Psychologically at peace.

I have found bodywork very challenging but with John my system is accepting and eager to learn and change (old habits also die hard!). John instills confidence and hope in me. I find him to be quiet - steady - grounded - secure - open - friendly - accepting - gentle and confident. I really appreciate the way we are working. The Makko Ho exercises John has shown me are hugely beneficial.

If you are hesitant to try Shiatsu I would say give it a try, it worked for me. As a male therapist I find John non-threatening, non-invasive, accepting of gender (no big deal for him - or me!)

I greatly appreciate the “educational” content of sessions - John’s input of “theory”. It’s just right for me. This helps me to feel included in sessions (rather than done to which I can feel with massage etc). It also gives me encouragement, to know that change is always possible no matter the chronological age. I’m 64, I find the changes I feel exciting even tho’ they come about tiny bit by tiny bit.
